Sweet, Proud, Literate

Whenever I find myself questioning the name choice my mother made when I was born, I go here.

Coolest. Googlism. Ever.

Big mouth strikes again

The Manchester Evening News apparently reported on it's website that local boy Morrissey, while announcing Ronald Reagan's death at his Dublin gig Saturday, then went on to wish aloud that it had been Bush instead. Allegedly. And so today forums are all abuzz with responses from outraged Americans.

Of course most of the agitation is taking place on Moz's own forum where there is actually a post that begins:

The most amazing part of his comments is how soon you the uk and the french have forgotten what we did for you.

We here at glossolalia choose not to name who WE wish were dead, but will make one wish aloud. That all self righteous opinionated passion over fuck-all could be channeled toward something that really mattered.

One track mind

While at a friend's this afternoon watching CNN about Ronald Reagan's passing, one of the anchors mentioned a memorial website had been set up. As people around me discussed Reagan's presidential significance, I suddenly blurted out, "Wow! They snapped that domain up pretty fast!"
One of my friends gave me a withering look, "You think they just did that today? He's been ill for years, I'm sure they've had it set up for some time now."

I of course couldn't get such a tiny (but techie) detail out of my head and when I got back to Glossolalia home base I immediately Whois'd the domain and came up with this:

Registrant:
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation (MBWPGLOJUD)

Two days shy of being registered only one month ago. Actually I'm surprised that an official source got it. Or am I the only one who finds things like this of interest??
